If this is your first time on this blog, start with this page. It will save you an hour of clicking around, and it will tell you honestly whether I am the right teacher for you.
Three sentences before we go further
You do not need everything. Subtraction usually beats addition. We are going to remove things before we add things.
Food and sleep come first. I will repeat this until it annoys you.
I earn commission on some links, and I will always tell you which ones. Products I use but earn nothing from are labeled too, so you can always tell the difference.
Pick the door that matches your problem
"My digestion is a mess."
Start with bitters and with meal timing, not with a supplement. Most people fix more by changing WHEN they eat than by changing what they swallow. Look for posts tagged Digestion.
"I am exhausted all the time."
Before we talk about adaptogens, we talk about blood sugar, minerals, and morning light. Adaptogens are wonderful. They are also the fourth thing to try, not the first.
"I cannot sleep."
There is a real difference between a nervine and an adaptogen, and most people are handed the wrong one. Look for posts tagged Sleep.
"I have celiac disease or I am gluten sensitive."
This is my home ground. I have been at it since 2008. Start with the post on where gluten hides in an herbal cabinet, because supplements, tinctures, and cosmetics are where careful people still get caught.
"I want to use essential oils safely."
Start with dilution and with the six oils that burn. I do not teach routine internal use of essential oils. I explain why in the oil posts, and you are welcome to disagree with me.
"I want a less toxic house."
We walk your actual house, room by room. Kitchen, water, bathroom, bedroom, laundry. Not a product catalog.
The two references you can use today
The Materia Medica
131 herb monographs and counting. Latin name, plant part, traditional use, preparation, honest cautions, and a celiac and sensitivity note on every entry. Free, searchable, no email required.
The Oil Reference
Every doTERRA single oil with botanical source, plant part, extraction method, dilution ceiling, and safety notes. The dilution numbers are the part almost nobody gives you.
Where to go if this is not a fit
If you are looking for someone who will tell you that a plant cures a disease, I am not your teacher, and I mean that kindly. If you are looking for someone who will hand you a protocol without asking what your doctor thinks, also not me.
If you are looking for someone who will teach you the plant, tell you the risks, and then let you make your own decision, pull up a chair.
